Mis-Hit

Hook

The # 2 Mis-Hit in golf is the Hook, which breaks the Law of Ball Flight called Face, causing the face of the club to close at impact. This Mis-Hit causes the ball to curve sharply left for right hand golfers and sharply right for left hand golfers.

Did you know?

The leading cause of the hook is a swing fault called a Strong Lead or Trail Hand Grip.

What you need to know: The Hook causes players to miss fairways and greens in regulation resulting in higher scores due to lost balls and loss of distance.

FAQ’s

Why am I hooking the ball?  You are hooking the ball because you are breaking the law of face, and the face of the club is not where it needs to be when the club hits the ball.
